Mission
Our mission statement is to help alleviate costs for those who are battling cancer. With community support, we can encourage our neighbors in their fight against cancer and to help make a difference one step at a time.
Profile
Flora Kirwan had a vision after her diagnosis of breast cancer and shortly thereafter Caring Neighbors Cancer Fund was formed in 2008 along with the late Debra Bailey and Tasha Schurter.
In 2026 CNCF was restructured to the current board of directors: Angel Herrmann, Jennifer Huber, Rhonda Meyer and Tasha Schurter.
Word of mouth is powerful, and this is how we learn of and are able to give to those who are affected by cancer. The more information the better, if you can let us know the stage of cancer they have, maybe their diagnosis and if they’re currently seeking treatment, and a mailing address, that would be great. Our main goal is to help offset some costs for anybody going through cancer treatments. If we can help them, that’s what the funds are for. They go directly to the patient to be used for rides, gas money, food when you’re getting treatment, offsetting hotel costs, anything like that.
If you are interesting in supporting CNCF, know of someone who is currently battling cancer, or would like donate to or help sponsor the organization, you are encouraged to reach out to them by email at cncfsabetha@gmail.com, by mail at P.O. Box 81, Sabetha, KS 66534, on their Facebook page “Caring Neighbor Cancer Fund,” or feel free to reach out to one of the board members.
