Specific Need
The Mary Cotton Public Library is seeking funds to help with various digital services and projects. We strive to improve childhood literacy, as well as to expand our digital footprint. Our patrons are able to use these (and more) digital services and items free with their library cards. Use of our digital archives also is free and we strive to keep it as up-to-date as possible for the public. We appreciate your support!
1. Sunflower E-library Membership - COST: $1,500/year
On demand digital audio books/ e-books. Unlimited checkouts. Browse, borrow, and enjoy titles from the Sunflower eLibrary digital collection using the Libby app or Kindle platform!
2. Wifi Hotspots - COST: $40/month/device ($9,600/year)
We have 20 Wifi Hotspot devices available for checkout.
3. Sound System - COST: $1,500
We need to replace our sound system speakers and microphone that are used for outdoor events. These items are also available for checkout.
4. Hoopla Digital Membership - COST: $9,600 - $10,000/year
Audiobooks, eBooks, Comics, Movies, Television, Music: Instantly read, listen and watch with your library card. Check out all kinds of digital content online or with the mobile app. Limit of 3 per card/month.
5. Digitize Newspapers & Yearbooks - COST: $7,415
We are in need of funds to digitize:
- 3 years of The Sabetha Herald, (2021-2023) - $415
- 7 Sabetha High School yearbooks (2019-2025) - $550
- 33 rolls of donated microfilm of early history newspapers from Fairview and Sabetha - $6,450

Profile
The Mary Cotton Public Library was founded in 1912 and has been serving the Sabetha-area community for well over 100 years. Today, staff, volunteers, and trustees work to uphold the legacy left to us by Mrs. Mary Cotton: neighborly service to our community and access for all.
