Ace Tennis and Pickleball Court Project

Specific Need

We are thrilled to bring the newest opportunity to Sabetha: New Tennis & Pickleball courts!  This project started out of necessity.  The current tennis courts have been patched and re-patched for years and years and are now at the point of no return.  The Sabetha High School Tennis Team has a record number of players out this year, and they were informed last year that they wouldn't be able to host any meets with current condition of courts.  Thankfully- with a collaboration between the City of Sabetha & School Board, we were able to get one more patch put on top which will last a few years.  We are in year 2 of our 5 year fundraising goal, and would love to get the project completely funded before the courts are at end of life.  

Tennis is a a lifelong sport to be enjoyed by all ages and we want to foster physical activity within our community.  Hand in hand with tennis, is the very popular and rising sport of Pickleball.  Pickleball is the fastest growing sport in the United States for the third year in a row! We want to be able to offer this to the already growing local league of pickleball players and encourage those new to the sport or those that have been playing for years toream the health and physcial benefits of the sport!

The plan is to tear out the old tennis courts and put in 6 new tennis courts and 4 new pickleball courts in the existing location.  The project is currently estimated to be around $1.2 million, which would include demolition, new courts, bathrooms and lighting. 

We would love to add this amenity to Sabetha and the surrounding communities by collectively working with the City of Sabetha, USD 113, and our community through donations, grants and fundraisers.
